Friday Jan 6th

Read Jeremiah 1:5 and write down some of your initial thoughts.

So many times when we read the Bible we leave these stories right there in the Bible, as if these things could never happen to us. What if God created us with just as much purpose as He created Jeremiah? Maybe we weren’t created to be a prophet (someone who tells people what God wants them to do) to the nations, but maybe something else. Write down some of the things you think God might have created you to do. Be as creative as you can because….

Now read Jeremiah 1:6 and write down some of your initial thoughts.

Jeremiah responds to God call the same way I think a lot of us respond, with disbelief. For Jeremiah he felt like he was too young to be used by God. Some of us can totally relate with that, others feel too old. Some of us don’t feel smart enough or brave enough to be used by God. As you look at your list of things God is calling you to do, think about and write down what things are keeping you from doing what God is calling you to do?

Read Jeremiah 1:7 and once again write down your thoughts

Isn’t this a crazy? God is essentially taking Jeremiah’s weakness (speaking) and turning it into a strength and He’s doing it simply because He is right there with Him. In the same way, when God calls us to step out and do something new He is right there with us. Maybe it is something we feel weak and insecure about, maybe it’s something we’re good at.

Take some time and pray that God will grant you the strength to step into His calling for your life
